Our Retrievers

crazytrain-ozzybb

“Ozzy” is a 75 lb male with the perfect combination of classic retriever traits and abilities. Earning his AKC Master Hunter title at 27 months of age and qualifying for the AKC Master Nationals, he is a proven retriever, earning the respect of numerous hunters from the flooded timber of Arkansas to the swamps and sounds of eastern Carolina. Calm in the house yet driven in the field, we look forward to further competing him in AKC events and sharing many days together with him in the duck blind.

"Karma" is a 60 lb black female that we kept from one of our previous breedings.  A very intelligent dog, easily trained, she earned her AKC Senior Hunter Title at just over a year old, has earned HRC points towards her Hunting Retriever Title, and she's quickly becoming an exceptional waterfowl dog.  We look forward to further competing her at the AKC Master Hunter level and spending many days together in the duck blind.

RAINBOW BRIDGE

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.  When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Their bright eyes are intent; their eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly they begin to run from the group, flying over the green grass, their legs carrying them faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.

Final Retrieve
12/19/2001 to 8/20/2012
"Abby" lived to retrieve. She faithfully retrieved ducks and geese from the big waters of Missouri and rivers of Rhode Island to the back swamps and sounds of North Carolina. You taught me more than I could've ever taught you. Hope you're breaking on every "live flyer"

Final Retrieve
2/14/2002 to 8/29/2014
Today we said goodbye to our own Romney's River Ridge. Romney wasn't the greatest hunting dog and the only dog we've known that would get sea sick out on a boat, but still a huge part of our family. He was rarely seen without a stuffed animal (or two) in his mouth proudly roaming the house. He sired several beautiful litters over the years and our own Cocoa is one of his puppies. He holds a special place in our heart. We'll miss you big boy!

"Trout" was a beautiful black female with unwavering drive and perseverance. She spent many days on the water and in the fields hunting waterfowl and showcased her passion for retrieving with many duck hunters over the years. We will miss you pretty girl!
